Today Upon Wings frontwoman Anne Autumn Erickson tells us about their new single and title track to their new EP "Afterlife," which was released this week. The single features guest vocals and production from Brett Hestla (Dark New Day, former Creed), as well as mastering by Kid Rock recording and mixing engineer Glenn Brown. Here is the story:

"'Afterlife' is about losing a loved one. Basically, the idea of the song is the experience of dealing with the pain and heartbreak that comes with losing someone in your life, followed by the eventual comfort in the belief that you'll see that person again and the feeling that they're still with you each day. It's a song of hope.

Musically, the song rocks pretty hard with big guitars and an anthemic, soaring feel. As for more of the EP, Glenn Brown, Kevin Jardine and Peter Tzaferis were a big part of it. It was great to have so many talented people involved, and I'm excited for people to hear the EP!"

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself here and learn more about the band and the EP right here!
