(Gibson) Those of you that have seen the movie trailer to director Baz Luhrman's take on The Great Gatsby, might have heard a loud and dirty version of U2's "Love Is Blindness" accompanying the scenes. That is none other than Jack White covering his favorite song from U2's 1991 Achtung Baby album.

"I listened to that a lot in my headphones," said White about Achtung Baby to Rolling Stone. "Love is Blindness" in particular caught White's attention: "I listened to that on repeat quite often," White said.

Jack White originally recorded the song in 2011 for U2's 20th anniversary Achtung Baby release, Ahk-toong Bay-bi Covered. He was so pleased with the result that he asked U2 guitarist The Edge for permission to use it as a b-side for his Blunderbuss solo album.

"This was bigger than just a tribute record," said White. "It came off so powerful, we had to ask if we could put it somewhere else." White, whose record label Third Man Records is releasing the vinyl version of the soundtrack for The Great Gatsby worked closely with Jay-Z, who serves as the album's executive producer. Said White: "I talked to Jay-Z a lot. We went back and forth on a lot of ideas. But the one that I kept thinking about, the one that was interesting just for me, was the 'Love Is Blindness' track." more on this story
