R.L. Grime Lands 'Goosebumps' Author R.L. Stine for Halloween Mixtape
. L.A. DJ R.L. Grime (born Henry Steinway) derived his EDM moniker from Stine's influence, which eventually led to the two having a chance meeting on Twitter. "I was surprised off the bat that he had a Twitter page, and that it was a really good Twitter page too," the 22-year-old DJ told L.A. Weekly. "He has [over 100,000] followers. I think someone tweeted at him 'Have you heard of RL Grime?' He responded no, but somehow I got looped into the conversation and started talking to him. Around this time last year, I was like, 'Hey man, can you send me your email?' and he did right away, and he's been super cooperative with everything after that. He's an amazing guy." That digital connection led to the unlikely duo to collaborate on R.L. Grime's new Halloween mixtape, which features the famous author providing voiceovers and introducing the mix. The mix also comes with an added touch that's sure to be appreciated by Goosebump fans. "We actually got the illustrator who did all the [Goosebumps] books to do the mixtape cover, so that's really cool," Grime explained in reference to artist Tim Jacobus. "Musically, it's the same idea, just trying to pick out spooky Halloween vibe songs." more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
