(Radio.com) Chalk up another one for Tim McGraw. The country superstar's latest single "Southern Girl" just became the 35th No. 1 of his career, landing at the top of the Mediabase country singles chart this week.

"Southern Girl" is the fourth single from McGraw's latest album Two Lanes of Freedom, which was released this past February. Other singles from the album include his recent No. 1 smash "Highway Don't Care" (which featured Taylor Swift and Keith Urban) as well as two songs released last year "Truck Yeah" and "One of Those Nights." "Southern Girl" was written by Jaren Johnston, Rodney Clawson (who also cowrote "One of Those Nights"), and Lee Thomas Miller.

"Southern Girl" is "just one of my favorite tracks" from Two Lanes of Freedom, McGraw told Radio.com in an interview earlier this year. It's got a groove that he called "breezy" and "funky," noting that the song "has this laid-back feel" but that "there's an intensity to it as well."

"I think on every record there's a song that the fans take and make their own, and we saw that happen with 'Southern Girl' on the road this summer," McGraw said in a press statement about his latest chart achievement. "It's been an incredible year and having so much success and three straight No. ones played a big part of that. I listen to country radio every morning without fail. Even after 35 of these, hearing your local DJ introduce and then play one of your songs will never get old." more on this story
