Lady Gaga's ARTPOP Goes No 1, But Sales Far Behind Last Album

(popmusiclife) Lady Gaga's new album, "ARTPOP", has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 this week. Gaga's new album sold 258,000 copies in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Gaga's previous No. 1 debut, 2011's "Born This Way," enjoyed first week sales of 1.1 million copies thanks in part to a 99 cent deal from Amazon MP3.

"ARTPOP" is also the fifth top 10 for the pop star, following "The Fame" (No. 2), "The Fame Monster" (No. 5), "The Remix" (No. 6) and "Born This Way." more on this story
