(Classic Rock) Riot have renamed themselves Riot V, and they've committed to carrying on following the death of founding guitarist Mark Reale in 2012. He passed away after a lifelong battle with Crohn's disease, which had left him unable to contribute to recording sessions for his final Riot album Immortal Soul.

Earlier this year the band confirmed plans to keep working and now they've named their new vocalist. Todd Michael Hall, previously of Jack Starr's Burning Starr and Reverence, joins Mike Flyntz, Bobby Jarzombek and Don Van Stavern in Riot V.

Riot V are at work on a new album, due next summer, and they're gearing up for a series of reissues via Sony, EMI and Metal Blade. They add: "We're inspired as never before and still at the top of our game. The new CD promises to be a true successor to Thundersteel, Privelege of Power and Immortal Soul. Mark and the Riot legacy will forever shine on." Read what they had to say about the name change.
