Drake Tops Album Chart and Cher Scores Her Highest Chart Debut
. After the dust settled and Nielsen SoundScan presented their numbers to Billboard, Drake's new album debuted at the top of the album chart after selling 658,000 copies during its first week of release. "Nothing Was The Same" gave Drake the best sales week of his career as well as his third No. 1 album. Drake's new effort also had the second biggest selling week of the year, only bested by Justin Timberlake's "The 20/20 Experience," which had first week sales of 968,000 back in March Kings of Leon's new album, "Mechanical Bull," came in at No. 2 after selling 110,000 copies during its first week in stores and Cher enjoyed her highest chart debut at No.3 with her new album, "Closer to the Truth," which sold 63,000 copies last week.
