Morrissey's Autobiography To Be Released At Long Last

(Radio.com) Like most things in his life these days, Morrissey's autobiography, Autobiography, has been a struggle. Not only has he been talking about it for years, the book was due out last month, but a content disagreement with Penguin Classics pushed back the original date and forced the Smiths singer to search for a new U.S. publisher. A rush and a push indeed.

However (and this is a big however), Autobiography will see the light of day in the U.K. and Europe on October 17 still via Penguin Classics. Whatever this content disagreement was, it apparently was not enough to keep the book off the shelves in Moz's native continent. So, bootleg copies it is.

Little is known about the dispute with Penguin, which pushed back the release date, except a statement he gave last month to leading Moz fan site True to You: "Although Morrissey's Autobiography was set to be available throughout the UK on September 16th, a last-minute content disagreement between Penguin Books and Morrissey has caused the venture to collapse. No review copies were printed, and Morrissey is now in search of a new publisher."

The 480-page paperback will cover the singer's life from his early life in Manchester up until the present moment, and all the dramatic bits in between. more on this story
