Simmonds tells Free Times: "If you don't go for that publicity, don't look for it, you don't get it. You can play a great guitar but if nobody knows about you, nobody knows. That's me. "I've been all over the map, but I have always been a blues guitar player. Even on those harder albums it was still the blues."
