Sandra Bullock Raps to Sugarhill Gang's 'Rapper's Delight'
. While promoting the movie in England with an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show over the weekend (October 12), the Academy Award-winning actress thrilled the studio audience with a spot-on rendition of the Sugarhill Gang's legendary 1979 proto-rap classic, "Rapper's Delight. Bullock admitted that originally she learned the song to impress a boy she had a crush on in her high school days. "I was like, 'Next time I go to that dance, I'm gonna know every word," she revealed. "And I'm going to make sure he sees me lip-syncing it, and I'm gonna catch his eye, and I'm gonna say the words. And he's gonna like me." After telling the show's host to "give me some beats, yo," Bullock went on to rap along to most of the song's first verse verbatim, much to the delight (zing!) of the show's other featured guests, which included actor Tom Hanks, who is seen giving the actress a hearty round of applause. As for her rapping skills helping the big-screen star land her high school crush? "Sadly, it worked," she laughed. Watch the video here. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
