The Scorpions Honored With Steiger Award

. (hennemusic) The Scorpions were awarded the Steiger Award on Saturday in Bochum, Germany. The international award was established in 2005 and presented annually by the award organization based in Bochum.

The title translates as The Miner, and reflects the qualities of responsibility, honesty, openness and hard work valued in the North Rhine Westphalia region where the award is presented.

"Thanks a lot for the Steiger Award 2013!!!," posted the band. "We feel honored!" Formed in 1965, The Scorpions released their debut, "Lonseome Crow", in 1972 and have gone on to sell more than 180 million albums worldwide. more on this story
