Singled Out: Dead Letter Circus' I Am
. "'I Am' was one of the last tracks we wrote for the album. Stewart (bass) brought in a great little 30 second loop that we jammed over and it fell into place quite quickly. The verse was the first thing that came out of my mouth, which is usually a great sign that a song will make it from concept to fully fledged song for us. I couldn't think of a worthy chorus straight up and for a while thought the track was doomed. But then for some reason as a joke I dropped a vocal in from another song we had recently finished, and it just sounded so right. I was reluctant at first as I loved the other song, but it just felt so meant to be in 'I Am'. Thematically both the songs could run as a part 1 and part 2, so who knows what the future holds." Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!
