MGMT Release Strange Trailer For New Album

(Radio.com) MGMT are previewing their new self-titled album with a rather weird new trailer that features the band being spied on by a few different entities. In the clip, the NSA, along with some kind of alien life force, start buggingquite literally, in factMGMT's recording sessions giving fans a first listen to the band's upcoming record, out September 17.

While the clip features a few aliens who apparently can't stop raving about MGMT, it more importantly features snippets of 6 new songs including "Cool Song No. 2,″ "Mystery Disease," "I Love You Too, Death," "Introspection," "A Good Sadness" and their already revealed first single, "Your Life is a Life."

Though the trailer is a bit out there, it stays consistent with the same jittery vibe the band portrayed on their trippy single, "Your Life Is A Lie," which features a cast of odd characters in bizarre situations, including plenty of men in their underwear, choirs of scuba gear-clad crazies and Fonzie himself, Henry Winkler.

The album trailer also helps stay on point with the band's personal take on their upcoming third release, which as VanWyngarden told Rolling Stone won't be for everyone.

"I don't even know if it's music we would want to listen to," VanWyngarden explained. "It's just what's coming out of us. We didn't make a single compromise." Check out the trailer here.
