Bruno Mars To Play Super Bowl Halftime Show
. Mars made the announcement on Foxwho will broadcast the XLVIII Super Bowlbefore the afternoon kick-off. "It's just an honor," Mars said. "We just got off tour, so being able to come to New York City and announce this is incredible." Mars has been given the tough job of following up last year's performance from Beyonce, which featured a Destiny's Child reunion. It also prefaced a brief blackout at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, along with the pop star being crowned "King Bey" by her hubby, Jay Z. Not to mention shut up all those critics who said she couldn't sing live after she was caught lip-syncing the "Star Spangled Banner" at President Obama's second inauguration. But Mars, whose second album, Unorthodox Jukebox came out in 2012, promises his Halftime performance will be full of surprises that he will be teasing throughout the football season. In honor of the big announcement, Mars even released his own career highlights reel to get fans excited about the show. The clip starts in 1990 with a 4-year-old Mars performing his little Elvis routine back in Hawaii before getting to his most recent achievements. Watch the video here.
