Viral Hit 'The Fox' Lands On Billboard Hot 100

(Radio.com) This week an unlikely song debuts on Billboard's Hot 100. Norwegian comedy duo Ylvis' viral hit "The Fox" lands at No. 29 on the chart. The video, released Sept. 3, has racked up nearly 20 million views over the past week.

"Dog goes woof/ Cat goes meow/ Bird goes tweet and mouse goes squeak," they sing with Celine Dion-levels of melodrama at the video's start while everyone in the video walks around dressed in animal costumes.

Not unlike PSY's massive hit "Gangnam Style" last year, the video is filled with outrageous dance moves and an ear worm of a ridiculous chorus. According to Billboard, last week alone "The Fox" drew 4.8 million U.S. YouTube streams. It has been shared over 71,000 times on social media which increases each day. "The Fox" landed at No. 3 on the Streaming Songs chart. Only three songs have had better debuts, Baauer's "Harlem Shake," PSY's "Gentleman" and One Direction's "Best Song Ever."
