Def Leppard Pose As Cover Band, Giving Away Free Download

. Def Leppard played a trick on fans during their Las Vegas VIVA! Hysteria residency by taking the stage as a Leppard cover band called Ded Flatbird and the band are giving away a download from that performance.

Phil Collen, Rick Allen and Viv Campbell were on AXS Live earlier this week and revealed that their posing as a cover band didn't go over so well with fans.

Collen told the show, "Some people thought we were some crap cover band. Some people would actually go, 'You guys suck.'" You can watch the interview here.

The band was on the show to promote the release of their VIVA! Hysteria Concert film, which will be hitting theaters early next month and they also shared the actually footage of them performing "Good Morning Freedom," which they haven't played live since 1980.
