Keb' Mo' Gave Up Rock and Roll Dream For The Blues

(The Blues) Keb' Mo' has admitted that he originally struggled with the temptation to chase a rock'n'roll dream instead of focusing on his blues. And the Grammy-winning artist is glad to have put the idea far behind him.

Mo', real name Kevin Moore, tells the Georgetowner: "I had some thoughts about being a rock star, you know, that kind of life. It took me a while to get everything straight and forget about that."

His 11th studio album, Blues Americana, is set for release on April 21 - and he says it's a prime example of how he finally learned to live for the music instead of the lifestyle.

It's a lesson he picked up from Taj Mahal: "He was doing things his way, and that's what you do," says Mo'. "People respond to the songs. It's about real life." more on this story
