Reunited Failure Launching North American Tour
. Kicking off at Cinquanta, pal Maynard James Keenan's 50th birthday celebration at The Greek Theatre in L.A., the reunited band will tour the U.S. and Canada through early June. After a discussion on whether to keep it simple with a reunion show and a mini-tour, band co-founders Greg Edwards and Ken Andrews opted to go one step further and begin the writing and recording process. "We got to thinking that a lot of our fans, became our fans recently and a lot of them are younger and they never saw us play live so we have an opportunity to pick up where we left off, musically," singer Ken Andrews told Radio.com prior to their El Rey show in February. After a few practice sessions with original drummer Kellii Scott, guitarist Greg Edwards said of their performance, "In ways, I think it's stronger than it ever was." Admittedly a little too close for a completely unbiased view, Andrews thinks they're playing some of the old stuff better than they did in the '90s.
