Avicii Cancels More Dates Due To Health Issues

(Radio.com) Avicii's failing gall bladder continues to wreak havoc with his DJ schedule. After being forced to cancel his headlining slot at this year's Ultra Music Festival in Miami as well as push back the start of his U.S. tour after surgery to remove his gall bladder and a ruptured appendix, the recovering "Wake Me Up" producer is now having to pull out of all previously scheduled gigs for the month of April.

"I'm sorry for having to postpone the shows this month," Avicii told fans via Twitter earlier this week. "I sincerely…wish I didn't have to but unfortunately there's no going around it…Health must always come first and in this case especially after my ruptured appendix that got removed doctors orders have been really strict."

Among those canceled dates include a pair of shows at the Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas, where Avicii maintains a DJ residency. While Avicii fans planning on catching him at either of the upcoming dates are sure to be disappointed, two of EDM's biggest names have agreed to step up and rock the decks in his absence.

According to Dancing Astronaut, Avicii's April 19 gig will now be manned by Diplo, while his event on April 26 will find Deadmau5 moving in to handle the beats. The latter will also fill in for Avicii at club XS Las Vegas later this month. more on this story
