Chance the Rapper Track The Writer Hits The Web
. Case in point: "The Writer," a previously unreleased that found its way onto the Internet yesterday (April 9). The song, short but sweet at just over two minutes, is a collaboration with production collective/fellow Chicago natives THEMpeople, a bonus for their just-released Smoke Breaks IV project, Complex notes. The song was reportedly recorded back in 2012, so listen if you're interested in hearing the rapper before he found major acclaim. Chance doesn't hold anything back from the get-go. "I'm a writer / Probably as good as Elton John," he spits at the onset before detailing his back-and-forth internal battle about whether or not he's good enough to make it as an artist. But by song's end, he decides he's all right with what happens - he just wants to "have 'em bobbin' they heads to something stupid I wrote, I hope." Check it out here.
