(Radio.com) After a series on controversies surrounding this year's Ultra Music Festival in Miami led to local officials making a serious bid to have the annual EDM event banned from the city, the latest news out of Florida is looking good for dance music fans - for now.

"Today Miami Commissioner Marc Sarnoff and Mayor Regalado withdrew their 'Resolution' to ban the Ultra Music Festival from Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami," the event's promoters posted to the Ultra Facebook page yesterday (April 10) after releasing a pro-festival video to the media. "They have requested to have the issue 'discussed' by the City Commission on April 24th at 10AM."

Here is the Ultra announcement: "The support from the Greater Miami and Beaches Hotel Association, the outpouring of support from Downtown businesses and residents, and the overwhelming support of Ultra fans around the world has delivered a temporary victory in the fight to keep Ultra in Downtown Miami.

"It appears most City Commissioners understand what Ultra Music Festival means to the Ultra Worldwide brand globally and appreciate the tremendous positive economic impact that the 3-day annual event has on the city of Miami and surrounding communities." More.
