Wu-Tang Clan Deny Affiliation With Rapper Who Cut Off Penis

. (Radio.com) The Los Angeles-based rapper who cut off his penis and leaped off a two-story balcony in what police are calling an apparent suicide attempt? Not affiliated with the Wu-Tang Clan. At least, that's what the rap crew is saying after news broke of the incident Wednesday (April 16).

According to Gawker, the group posted a statement to their website saying that rumors of Andre Johnson, rap name Christ Bearer, being down with the Clan are greatly exaggerated.

The now-deleted post reportedly warned readers against believing "the HYPE. This Mother F***er Ain't Got Sh*t to do with The WUTANG Brand."

If he isn't anymore, Johnson was at least at one point affiliated with said brand. The rapper, as part of the duo Northstar, was originally discovered by Wu-Tang's RZA in 1998. RZA later produced the duo's debut album, Bobby Digital Presents Northstar. more on this story
