RZA Responds To Raekwon's Criticism
. RZA got wind of the interview and talked with New York radio station Hot 97 about Raekwon's comments and how the album is coming together. "What we're not doing as brothers and as business brothers is putting in time together," RZA said. "I have to read about how he feels. He has to read about how I feel." While there is no denying both men are busy, RZA says he tries to make himself as available as possible. "I'm gonna clear one thing up. In the newest article in Rolling Stone Raekwon says that I'm a boldface liar, which I'm far from," RZA asserts. "I don't need to lie. I'm a grown man. I've got children. I only have one rule in my house, 'Don't lie to me.'" He then clarified the miscommunication. RZA did an interview weeks ago that was recently published. "I guess when it came out he read it then. I spoke to Raekwon eight days ago but the interview was 14 or 16 days ago. In his interview he says, 'RZA is a liar, he spoke to me.' No, when I did the interview, brother, I didn't speak to you. I hadn't spoke to him in six months before that." Still, the rapper said he is ready to bury his beef with his bandmate and get back to what matters: the music. "We need him there. I want him there. I came up with the idea to do another album to celebrate our 20th year. [Call it] Better Tomorrow because I feel our world needs a better tomorrow. I want to bring that spirit back. To celebrate ourselves. Why wouldn't you want to celebrate yourselves?" A Better Tomorrow is supposed to be released sometime this year. In an interview earlier this month, RZA confirmed that Raekwon "[had] not been participating" on the album. Watch the entire interview here. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
