(hennemusic) Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson will announce Britain's beer champion at the Campaign for Real Ale's (CAMRA) Great British Beer Festival in London on Tuesday.

Dickinson and the band launched their own ale, Trooper Beer, in the spring of 2013. Named after one of Iron Maiden's most popular songs, the beverage was personally designed and developed as a top quality Premium British Beer by the singer in tandem with Robinsons Brewery Head Brewer Martyn Weeks. Trooper Beer has gone to sell more than 5 million pints in its first year.

"We are hugely proud to have Bruce Dickinson announcing the winner of the Champion Beer of Britain competition. He is a true real ale lover," CAMRA Chairman Colin Valentine told the Belfast Telegraph. "The unique taste of Trooper has not only captured Iron Maiden's fan base, it is also attracting new customers to the beer category who are now trying real ale for the very first time."

"When asked if we wanted to enter into a partnership with the respected Robinsons Brewery to design and brew a real ale for ourselves and our fans, we leapt at the chance," Dickinson explained. more on this story
