(Radio.com) Christmas came early for Directioners this year. The guys of One Direction took the stage at Saturday Night Live for the show's holiday episode, which kicked off host Amy Adams doing a musical number with her Christmas hunks.

But the hunks of 1D were only interested in bringing some holiday cheer for their first time back to the show since Dec. 2013 and perhaps sell a few more copies of their latest album, Four.

Dressed all in black, the guys kept thing low key for their sweet take on their latest single "Night Changes." Niall Horan even brought out the guitar for the ballad.

It all ended with a lot of screaming girls making it clear how much they like it when the boys wear their hearts on their sleeves.

Fans also got to see One Direction show up as the hot male dance squad in the Girlfriends Talk Show skit. We're talking matching blue outfits, gold chains and lots of chest hair. Like, a whole lot.

One Direction returned later in the show to perform their song "Ready to Run." Horan, again with his guitar, helped accompany the other guys as they sang about the girl they want to spend the future with. At least the near future.

Adams also had a little fun with a skit about a viral Christmas hit where they're wearing some festive sweatpants. The clip, set to Will Smith's "Miami," has her singing about her 2014, which included getting HPV, having an affair and resenting her kids. Though she got to have a little more fun with Kristen Wiig in their musical cold open.

The cold open had the show picking on Sam Smith as he threw his rather sad Christmas special, which ended with Dr. Evil returning to talk to North Korea.
