Queen Score The Biggest Selling UK Album Of All Time
. The Official Charts Company, who tracks music sales in the UK, made the announcement earlier this month that the Queen compilation had officially becoming the biggest selling album of all time in the UK. "Great news, AMAZING news from the Official Charts Company!" Queen guitarist Brian May told OfficialCharts.com for their announcement. "Queen's Greatest Hits which was released in 1981 has passed the 6 million mark in sales, which is incredible. I just want to say thanks to everyone who has supported us through the years, we hope to continue to serve you." In the U.S., the latest certification from the RIAA places "Queen's Greatest Hits" at 8 times platinum, which equals 8 millions copies sold. Currently, Michael Jackson's "Thriller" is slightly ahead of The Eagles "Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975" as the biggest selling album in U.S. history (each have over 29 million in sales).
