Michael Jackson Fans Sue Conrad Murray For 'Emotional Damages'

(Radio.com) There have been a lot of court cases regarding Michael Jackson's death, but this latest settlement is the one you should really pay attention to. According to the BBC, five fans in France who sued Conrad Murray, the doctor who administered a lethal dose of anesthesia to their favorite pop star, have been awarded a small sum for the trauma they suffered following MJ's death four years ago.

How small a sum you ask? Each of the fans were awarded one euro or roughly $1.36. Their lawyer, Emmanuel Ludot said the damages were "symbolic" and that these five fans had proven their suffering "with the help of witness statements and medical certificates."

"As far as I know, this is the first time in the world that the notion of emotional damage in connection with a pop star has been recognized," Ludot told the AFP news agency. "They have been subjected to ridicule and I am delighted their suffering has been taken seriously by the law." more on this story
