Whitechapel Pull Out of Soundwave Festival Due To Death In The Family
. The band tweeted the bad news to fans on Sunday night. They wrote, "We regret to inform we must cancel our upcoming shows in Australia and New Zealand due to the death of a members immediate family member." An hour later the band added, "It's a decision that no band wants to make, but family comes first, and we will be back as soon as we can. Thank you for understanding." The band was scheduled to take part in the annual Soundwave Festival with Green Day, Avenged Sevenfold, Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington, Alice In Chains, Rob Zombie, Korn, Trivium, Down, Alterbridge and more. They have also canceled their appearance at Westfest 2014 on February 20th at Vector Arena in Auckland Central, New Zealand. The two day festival will feature Korn, Rob Zombie, Asking Alexandria, Five Finger Death Punch, Black Veil Brides, Eagles Of Death Metal, August Burns Red, Terror, and Saving Grace. There was no word at press time if the U.S. dates for April, listed on the band's Facebook page, have been canceled but the dates are not currently listed on the band's official website.
