On Friday night (February 14th), Aguilera tweeted the message "He asked and I said��" along with a photo showing her hand with the new engagement ring along with Rutler's hand overlooking a tropical background.

Aguilera was previously married to marketing executive Jordan Bratman for five years. She became involved with Rutler in 2010 after she met him on the set of the film "Burlesque," where he was a production assistant.
