Magenta and Big Big Train Big Winners at Classic Rock Society Awards

(Prog) Magenta and Big Big Train both won three gongs at the annual Classic Rock Society Awards ceremony over the weekend. Steve Hackett, Fish and Moon Safari were among the other winners at the gala event held in the Montgomery Hall, Wath upon Dearne. The night featured a performance of Clive Nolan's prog opera Alchemy plus a live set from Andy Tillison.

Magenta won Best Album for The Twenty Seven Club while Christina Booth was named Best Female Vocalist and Rob Reed took Best Keyboard Player.

Big Big Train scored Best UK Band and frontman David Longdon topped the Best Male Vocalist category, while their song East Coast Racer from English Electric 2 was given the Best Track award. See the list of winners.
