Unreleased Johnny Cash Song Revealed For His Birthday
. "Out Among the Stars," which is also the title track of Cash's forthcoming album (due March 25), is a story song that tells of a man struggling to find work who holds up a liquor store. With Cash's deep vocals and the slow guitar, it's easy to visualize the story coming to life. To listen, visit Cash's website. Last month, another track from the forthcoming album was released, "She Used to Love Me a Lot," which is more of a mid-tempo honky-tonker. Cash recorded Out Among the Stars in the early 1980s with Billy Sherrill, the 'countrypolitan' producer who helped shape the classic sounds of such legends as Tammy Wynette, Charlie Rich and George Jones. The album was recorded in Nashville during sessions in 1981 and '84 but never released until now. It will include two duets with June Carter Cash, "Baby Ride Easy" and "Don't You Think It's Come Our Time." more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
