The Dead Weather Go Crazy on New Song 'Rough Detective'

(Radio.com) By the sounds of The Dead Weather's new song "Rough Detective" there might be something in the water down at Third Man Records. The new track, which is the B-side to "Open Up (That's Enough)," has Jack White and Alison Mosshart freaking out, going from soulful pleas of "Don't make me run, baby" to shouting "Can't handle it anymore."

If she didn't sound unstable enough, halfway through the track Mosshart explodes into a fit of manic laughter that leads White to ask, "What's happening?"

Damned if we know, Jack. There's the layers of grinding guitars, pounding drums and ear piecing sirens that are enough to make a person go a little cuckoo. That is, if the song wasn't so catchy.

"Open Up (That's Enough)" b/w "Rough Detective" was first released on 7-inch as part of the latest installment of Third Man's Vault subscription series and is reportedly part of a long-term rollout campaign for the band's new album, which isn't expected to drop until 2015. Listen to the song here.
