I write on average a song per day. Every few years I curate all the songs and pick out my favorites. The last time I did this Wide Open was one of the tracks that I liked and decided to record. It seemed to be a good opening track so I decided to record it first.

When I first started Power Chord Academy, which was my senior business plan in college, I thought I could run the camp 3 months a year & hopefully make an annual salary that would enable me to play music for the other 9 months. That worked at first, but as the Company grew, it actually did the opposite. So when I finally sold the Company, I had this enormous feeling of freedom & a fresh start. It was shortly thereafter that I wrote the lyrics for Wide Open.

Then I decided to build SongAmpr as a platform to release the music through, and it just worked out that I was able to release Wide Open & launch SongAmpr in conjunction with the 2014 New Year. Wide Open is about a fresh, clean start & new beginnings, and I hope it brings good energy into everyone's life.
