(Radio.com) Lorde has earned love and support from America, but her heart will always belong to New Zealand. In a handwritten note written by the 17-year-old pop star and published in The New Zealand Herald Wednesday (Jan. 29), Lorde makes light of the past weekend's GRAMMY festivities with an all-caps "HOLY CRAP."

"It was a crazy day & my friends & family over here are still freaking out," she writes. "I just wanted to say thank you for the time you've given me these past 14 months. Finding out about me online or in between these pages or in your headphones."

Adding, "Without your support, there's no way I would ever have gotten to stand in the middle of the Staples Centre & perform in my school shoes."

Lorde took home two gramophones at Sunday night's GRAMMYs, including Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for "Royals." She also wowed the crowd with her stark and simple performance of the hit single. more on this story
