Garth Brooks Announces Initial World Tour Dates
. Brooks began announcing the additional shows on Friday as the demand grew and he has broken his previous ticket sales record in Chicago, according to promoter Ben Farrell. Farrell said in a statement, "On October 21-26 and December 18-19, 1997, Garth set a personal record in Chicago when he sold 141,717 paid admissions. Today, for the first city on his world tour he has already exceeded his personal record and continues to sell." The world tour will feature support from Trisha Yearwood and will be kicking off with the Chicago run on September 4th at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL. Shows Allstate Arena:
