So that half, Ryan Lewis, took to Bryant Park in New York on Monday (June 2) to find out what the world thinks of him for a segment on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

While every person he spoke with knew exactly who Macklemore was and could point out Lewis in a band photo, it took a while for them to recognize that he was Ryan Lewis in the flesh.

"His music is really genuine," one passerby said of Macklemore. But when asked what Lewis does in the duo, he wasn't sure. "I don't really know what he does. I know he's a package deal though. He comes with Macklemore a lot."

All this despite Lewis often holding up a band photo and not looking too different from his pose in the picture; he's wearing glasses as he walks around Manhattan, but that's about it.
