Sanctuary Releasing First New Studio Album Since 1989
. The band revealed this week that they have finished work on the album and they have set a September 30th North American release date. Fans in Europe will be able to purchase the album a day earlier. "The Year The Sun Died", the bands first new studio album since 1989's "Into The Mirror Black", was produced by Zeuss (Whitechapel, Hatebreed) and was recorded at Soundhouse Studios in Seattle. It will include 11 tracks as well as the bonus cover of the Doors classic "Waiting For The Sun". Frontman Warrel Dane had this to say: "Now that hell has officially frozen over and the pigs have flown, I can proudly say 'The Year The Sun Died' is finished. The record that nobody thought would ever get here has come in kicking...and yes, there is screaming!
