(Radio.com) In an interview with Radio.com last year, Lana Del Rey said she wanted to work with Lou Reed on her upcoming album, which we now know as Ultraviolence.

Now it's been revealed that Reed was almost featured on Lana's track, "Brooklyn Baby" before he passed away in late October. In an interview with The Guardian, Lana reveals just how close Reed came to appearing on the song, which features the line, "My boyfriend's in the band, he plays guitar while I sing Lou Reed."

"I took the red eye, touched down at 7am and two minutes later he died," she said. Talking with The Guardian, Lana also says the criticism of her music is not sexist, but just straight-up personal, explaining that she's not a "true provocateur" like that of Lily Allen or Lorde or Miley Cyrus, who also deal with criticism.

"I don't think there's any shock value in my stuff - well, maybe the odd disconcerting lyric - but I think other people probably deserve the criticism, because they're eliciting it," she said. more on this story
