The Devil's Blood's Selim Lemouchi Dead at 33

(Prog) The Devil's Blood mainstay Selim Lemouchi had died at the age of 33. The Dutch musician had only recently released his first musical venture since disbanding The Devil's Blood, Selim Lemouchi & The Enemies, who released Earth Air Spirit Fire Water on Van Records.

Malcolm Dome knew Lemouchi better than most on Prog, and offers his thoughts on a remarkable musical talent who will sadly be missed: The first time Selim Lemouchi showed his talents was in a Dutch band called Powervice. With heavy influences from early Iron Maiden, their three track 2005 demo was all based around Lemouchi's inherently melodic, yet creatively challenging songwriting. But a year later, the band had split up.

"I left because I wasn't prepared to deal with people who put taking drugs and partying before the music," he said at the time. "Now, I am going to take my career in a very different direction. I know what I want to do, and it won't be connected to Powervice." more on this story
