Singled Out: Ricky Blaze's 'Take Ya Money' Featuring Chelley
. Hello to all, my name is Ricky Blaze and I am a 25 year-old Producer from Brooklyn, New York, here to tell you about my new single entitled "Take Ya Money" featuring Brooklyn pop artist Chelley released with EDM label Ultra Records. Chelley and I collaborated on her mega single "Took The Night" released in 2008. When I first started producing for Chelley we experimented with numerous genres such as reggae, dance, pop, we wanted to keep it fun but experimental. Taking the same approach on "Take Ya money" I wanted to create something that was club sexy and bass dirty but positive, something that would be an anthem. Once I played the track for Chelley, we started off with the chorus melody and then the words. Chelley didn't agree on the content, but after convincing her to be a little more outgoing we recorded it at 2am in the morning. After giving it a rough edge mix and listening to it 200 times, I thought to myself maybe I should release this under my new record deal with Ultra Records. When I submitted it to the label reps they loved it and decided to collaborate on this release. This record is definitely noteworthy. It speaks to females telling them to "Take Ya Money" metaphorically, but it is actually explaining how to never settle for less and always let your worth be shown whether sexy, cordial, cool or raunchy. It is a fusion of old school 90's hip hop with a little reggae and jazz flavor. Chelley delivers pop top line over this club bass driven record. "Take Ya Money" is officially available on iTunes, Amazon and all digital retailers today March 11th, so take a listen.
