(Radio.com) "One day everyone's gonna know your name." So the trailer begins for the James Brown biopic, Get On Up. And it's true, we all know his name and now we're going to experience his story from growing up poor in Atlanta, GA to a brief jail stint to becoming the Godfather of Soul.

The first official trailer for the film-starring 42 star Chadwick Boseman and helmed by The Help director Tate Taylor-is a bright and glossy take on Browns' life showing him fist fighting, busting a move and of course, singing his hits. Choosing to only touch on the more serious elements of the story (i.e. him meeting his mom, who abandoned him) briefly.

The film has been in development since 2001 with actors like Eddie Murphy and Wesley Snipes attached to star in the project. For a short time, even Spike Lee was on the list of possible directors. The movie will be produced by Brian Grazer, along with Mick Jagger under his Jagger Films banner.

Jagger, along with his fellow Rolling Stone Keith Richards, will reportedly be characters in the movie, but will not play themselves.

Help stars, Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer, also appear as his mother and aunt respectively,
