Jimi Hendrix Reissue and Special Record Store Day Release Announced

Legacy Recording have announced a special Record Store Day release of The Jimi Hendrix Experience Live At Monterey on 200-gram audiophile-grade vinyl.

The Record Store Day release will be available only at participating stores during the spring event on April 19, 2014 and each copy will individually be numbered. We were sent over these details:

The vinyl will also include an essay written in 2007 by Jimi Hendrix Experience drummer Mitch Mitchell, who passed away after completing the 2008 edition of the Experience Hendrix all-star tribute tour.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience Live At Monterey was mastered using an all-analogue technique by renowned audio engineer Bernie Grundman and pressed by Quality Record Pressings (QRP).

The special release features the recording of Jimi Hendrix Experience's debut performance in the U.S. on June 18, 1967 at the Monterey Pop Festival.

Legacy has also announced an all-analog stereo reissue of the Jimi Hendrix Experience's debut studio album Are You Experienced, which will be released on May 20th.
