Carrie Underwood Headlines TIME 100 Gala
. Tuesday night she headlined the Time 100 Gala and received a standing ovation during her performance at New York's Jazz at Lincoln Center. The event, which honored present and past recipients of the 100 most influential people in the world, included attendees Amy Adams, Alfonso Cuaron, Megyn Kelly, Seth Meyers, Rupert Murdoch, Rand Paul, Charlie Rose, Christy Turlington, Pharrell Williams and more. Brad Paisley wrote about Underwood in TIME's feature. In it, Paisley praises Underwood, who TIME writes as being "the all-round American Idol." "Not only has she earned her place, she's also raised the bar: she's a prolific songwriter, a trendsetter and an Opry member," Paisley writes. "But it's her decency as a person that is so impressive. She's an advocate for causes like animal rights and the Red Cross. She has publicly challenged lawmakers when she's disagreed with them, and covered controversial issues in her music. She can sing the fire out of a song and tell a joke." more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
