Sia Releases Chandelier Video

(Radio.com) If anyone expected Sia's desire for anonymity to dissipate with the release of her first music video in four years, their hopes have been dashed by "Chandelier." The award-winning songwriter, whose pen has been the force behind mega-hit songs for Rihanna, Katy Perry and Beyonc, to name a few among many, is finally stepping out with another solo record of her own, 1000 Forms of Fear.

The video depicts a dance routine performed by a girl of about 12, wearing a Sia-esque wig and a nude bodysuit. Her setting is a derelict residence, but the interesting part is what adorns the walls. That's where we get to see a bit of Sia.

In addition to an unflattering but eye-catching pencil drawing of Sia, there's a self-portrait of Frida Kahlo, a puppy and a grouping of unframed, scribbled drawings. To decode: a famous female artist known for her self-confidence if not her beauty, probably Sia's dog (if not, she's a known dog lover) and a look at the inside of Sia's mind. It's her, hanging on the walls and hidden in plain sight.

The loose artwork continues as the girl dances through the house: a freewheeling paint-by-numbers Aladdin Sane-era Bowie, a fridge full of frightening scribbles, and the dance, which concludes with Sia's signature crazy-face smile.
