(Radio.com) Diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease several years ago, country-pop legend Glen Campbell recently entered a specialized care facility. Now, according to a recent update from his Campbell's wife Kim Campbell, the "Rhinestone Cowboy" singer's once-stellar music skills are deteriorating.

"He can't even tune a guitar now," Kim Campbell told People during an event in Malibu, Calif. this past Saturday. Only two years ago, Campbell was still playing guitar and singing on stage. He performed at the 2012 GRAMMY Awards (when he was given a Lifetime Achievement Award), the same year he also completed a national Goodbye Tour. In 2013, he even released a new album, See You There.

Now, Kim Campbell said, he can no longer perform. "If I tune [a guitar] and hand it to him he can still play, [but] not like he used to." He can, though, at least "play a couple licks here and there, and he finds joy in that."

The struggles Campbell and his family have faced are also the subject of a new documentary Glen Campbell . . . I'll Be Me, which screened last month at the Nashville Film Festival. more on this story
