Motown legend Smokey Robinson is teaming up with Elton John, James Taylor and other music legends for a new duets album that will be released in September and will be entitled "Smokey & Friends".

The album is being produced by former American Idol judge and record producer Randy Jackson and is set to feature an all-star roster of music stars that will duet with Robinson.

So far it has been announced that Elton John and James Taylor will be teaming with Smokey on duets of classic singles from 1965. Elton John and Smokey Robinson will duet on "The Tracks of My Tears."

Elton John had this to say about the collaboration, "I was lucky enough to pick 'Tracks Of My Tears' because I've always loved the song, probably one of the best lyrics of all time...just an amazing lyric. The greatest pop song ever written."

James Taylor and Smokey Robinson will duet on the Marvin Gaye classic "Ain't That Peculiar" which he composed and became one of Gaye's earliest hits. Robinson said, "What a great honor and pleasure it is for me to record with my really good friends Elton John and James Taylor. They are both awesome artists and we had a great time in the studio."

Additional collaborations to be featured on the album will be announced soon. You can preorder the album here.
