29 Avicii Fans Hospitalized
. According to the Toronto Sun, at least 29 people ended up in the hospital for "illnesses related to alcohol or drugs." The paramedics said that 10 concertgoers at the sold out all-ages show had gotten sick before Avicii even made it on stage. "That number is unusually high," one officer told the paper. "It's not typical for that many people to require hospitalization at that kind of concert." It's been reported that the venue, Rogers Centre, did have medics on site, but due to the overwhelming amount of people needing medical assistance were forced to call EMS. The paper also reported that one person was arrested and at least one other was treated for drug use. Five people were said to be in serious condition but all are expected to fully recover. That being said, Toronto city counselor Giorgio Mammoliti said he blamed the show's promoter, Ink Entertainment, for the hospitalization saying they should not have organized an all-ages show. more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
