Tim McGraw Reveals New Song 'City Lights'
. During Tuesday's finale of The Voice, McGraw took the stage to perform "City Lights." "City Lights" follows a few other new McGraw songs, "Lookin' for That Girl", "Shotgun Rider" and "Meanwhile Back at Mama's," the latter a duet with his wife, Faith Hill. All are strong candidates to appear on his upcoming album Sundown Heaven Town, which is schedule to drop Sept. 16. Where "Lookin' for That Girl" showed McGraw messing around with Auto-Tune, "City Lights" feels much more straightfoward. The song leads with just McGraw's vocals backed by an acoustic guitar. In the song, McGraw sings about taking his date (a girl with "faraway eyes") on a drive into the country to a spot with a view looking out over "the corn and the cotton" to the lights of the city. The song's romantic appeal is built around lyrical images of shooting stars, Mason jars and "a big old sky full of diamond dust." It's gentle at first, but opens up into a sing-along chorus.
