Hearst Magazines, the corporate owner of Cosmopolitan, have toyed with the concept of global concept previously in their Harper's Bazaar magazine. In October of 2012, Harper's named Carine Roitfeld, the former editor-in-chief of Vogue France and muse to Tom Ford, its global fashion director.
