Lorde's Bright Eyes Cover Leaks Online

(Radio.com) The majority of the songs from The Hunger Games soundtracks, totaling three records so far, are originals, but that doesn't mean a few reimaginings of older tracks can't seep through the cracks.

Case in point: Bright Eyes' "Ladder Song," covered by soundtrack curator Lorde for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1. The song, which leaked onto the Internet last week (Nov. 13), finds the singer stripping down the original to render it even more sparse than it already was.

Piano is replaced by organ-esque keyboards, though Lorde stays fairly true to Conor Oberst vocally, sliding delicately along the melodies, magnified only toward the end by another vocal track.

"Ladder Song" follows previously leaked songs from the album, including Charli XCX and Simon LeBon's "Kingdom," Ariana Grande and Diplo's "All My Love" and a smattering of vocalists on "Meltdown," the album's first song. As of now, the entire album has leaked ahead of its release.
